London 2012: Saturday 21 July (365.360° Day 363)
Hackney was absolutely buzzing in anticipation of the Olympic Torch Relay passing through the borough ahead of the kick off of the games the following weekend.
We got into the spirit of things with a (very narrow staircase) climb to the top of St Augustine’s Tower, not far from where we’ve been staying on Mare Street to take in the stunning 360° views.
We then headed to the Shoreditch Festival by the canal to soak up some world music, drink some beer and devour some awesome pizza slices from a very cool little food truck with a stone pizza oven in it.
Finally, we headed to Rectory Road to watch my Uni mate Jonty carrying the Olympic torch. He was brilliant and the atmosphere was utterly fantastic.
All in all, a great day….
Layers of London: the view from St Augustine’s Tower over to the City, the Shard and the Gherkin.
Wash day, Broadway Market.
Getting ma groove on, Shoreditch Festival.
The Olympic Torch Relay.
